Aircraft from Eindhoven Air Base departing for Kabul
Eindhoven Air Base is currently the base for the Dutch evacuation flights that depart for Kabul. The Ministry of Defence announced that on Tuesday, August 17, 2021, two flights will again fly from Eindhoven to the capital of Afghanistan.
A KDC-10 transport aircraft departed for Kabul at around 1.30 pm. On board the aircraft is a so-called embassy emergency team. They are accompanied by 62 military personnel who will assist in the evacuation of Dutch and Afghan embassy personnel.
Earlier that day, around 6 am, a C-130 Hercules departed with the same destination. The difference in departure times depends on the permission that countries give to planes to fly in their airspace. It is not yet known how long the planes will stay in the area.
