App predicts air traffic

Eindhoven Airport is expanding its BurenApp with a tool that predicts air traffic to and from the airport. The airport is the first to map the expected route and runway use, so that local residents know where they stand.

“For example, you know whether you can sit outside undisturbed on Sunday evening”, says general manager Roel Hellemons. Eindhoven Airport launched the BurenApp on 1 May. With the first version, local residents could only follow current flight movements and directions; thanks to the new tool, local residents can see from December 1, 2019 throughout the day where and when civil air traffic takes place to and from the airport. The tool has been developed in collaboration with NLR and air traffic control from Eindhoven Air Base.

The BurenApp can be found in th Google Play Store en App Store.
