Boys simply “buy new weapons” after the Meerhoven street robbery

Yes, three young people from Eindhoven had robbed three chilling young people, with weapons and violence. But: that was on a whim, no angry intent. The Public Prosecution Service did not believe that and demanded substantial work sentences.

They had just finished their HAVO diploma, so two Veldhoven boys and a girl were chilling on a Friday night in July last year on the waterfront at the Meerhoven shopping center. Suddenly three guys stood before them. They shouted that they wanted things. A boy was hit and got a gun to his head. “You have three seconds,” he heard, so everyone handed over their phones. They had to lie on the floor and the perpetrators fled.
