Bring on the swallows in Meerhoven, their nests are ready for use again
Remove weeds, remove branches, fill nest holes with new loam; it is hard work during the outdoor working day at the bank swallow wall for the pupils of primary school De Startbaan and the International School.
Armed with buckets, shovels, loppers and garbage bags, four groups 6 set to work to prepare the art shore swallow wall in Park Meerland in the Meerhoven district for breeding. About 110 enthusiastic pupils clean up the wall so that next month the sand martins will come back to dig, breed and raise their young.
