Collective action zoning plan Land Forum (police site)
As expected, the City Council approved the zoning plan Land Forum (police site) on May 30, 2023. The vote distribution was 26 votes in favour and 16 against. The zoning plan has been available for inspection since Thursday, June 8, 2023 and can be consulted via the site ruimtelijkeplannen.nl. The zoning plan can be appealed to the Council of State until Thursday, July 20, 2023.

Appeal
Residents’ Association Meerhoven believes that the location Land Forum is not suitable for a police facility of this size and that the alternative location Trade Forum (the vacant lot behind P+R Meerhoven) is an excellent alternative. With the choice of Trade Forum, the inconvenience to the surrounding area can be reduced, Sliffertsestraat can remain where it is now, and the P+R site can serve as an “overflow” when there are insufficient parking spaces on the police site itself. We will prepare the appeal and will file the appeal to the Council of State in a timely manner. The appeal will be in line with our previous view of the draft zoning plan. Since some parts of the zoning plan can only be disputed by directly interested parties, we are launching a collective action and offering you the opportunity to appeal on your behalf as well.
Authorize
Should you wish to authorize us to appeal the zoning plan Land Forum (police site) also on your behalf, please complete this registration form as soon as possible. A few minutes after your registration you will receive an authorization form (pdf) from us by e-mail with your details filled in. That authorization form should be returned to us signed no later than July 10, 2023. One authorization per home address is sufficient. Please note: if you authorized us last year to submit a view on the draft zoning plan on your behalf, you must now authorize us again if you also want us to lodge an appeal against the zoning plan on your behalf.
Legal aid and costs
A lawsuit involves high costs. Residents’ Association Meerhoven has limited financial resources for litigation. That is why we work together with legal aid insurers to share the costs. If you are entitled to legal aid, report this case before July 1, 2023 to your legal aid insurer if you have not already done so. Use our sample text (in Word or PDF) for this purpose. Most legal aid insurers (including Achmea, ARAG, DAS and Univé) are aware of our collective action. Residents who are not insured and who are not members of Residents’ Association Meerhoven, we ask for a voluntary contribution in proportion to the number of participants. These residents will receive notice later.
