CPR courses and practice evenings for a heart-safe Meerhoven

In November 2022, the Meerhoven Heart Safe Committee of Residents’ Association Meerhoven will again organize a number of starter and refresher courses in CPR. Various resuscitation practice evenings are also organized that month. The courses and practice evenings take place in De Hangar in Meerhoven from 7 to 10 pm.

Meerhoven has a comprehensive AED network. This is partly thanks to the joint efforts of private individuals, the Eindhoven Heart Safe Foundation, Philips and Residents’ Association Meerhoven. Last spring, several dozen new civilian aid workers were trained in Meerhoven. If someone in Meerhoven is struck by a heart attack, there is always an AED and a civilian aid workers nearby to provide first aid.

Starter course
Hans Vissers, board member of Residents’ Association Meerhoven and also initiator of the Meerhoven Heart Safe Committee: “We are certainly not dissatisfied with the number of civilian aid workers in our neighbourhood. Nevertheless, we want to continue to encourage residents in Meerhoven to become civilian aid worker. That is why we organize a number of starter courses every year for residents who want to be trained as civilian aid worker. The starter course only lasts one evening. During such an evening you learn how to resuscitate victims of cardiac arrest and how to operate the AED.”

Refresher course and practice evening
Civil aid workers must take a refresher course every year to remain certified. That is why Meerhoven Hartveilig also organizes refresher courses for certified people. Also for people who have a first aid or emergency response certificate. In addition, Meerhoven Heart Safe offers the possibility to practice CPR on a doll once or twice a year under supervision.

Dates, times and location
The courses and practice evenings take place on the following days: Wednesday 2 November, Thursday 3 November, Wednesday 9 November, Thursday 10 November, Tuesday 15 November and Wednesday 23 November. Time: 7 to 10 pm. Location: De Hangar, Meerbos 4 in Eindhoven.

Depending on the wishes and availability of those interested, the Meerhoven Heart Safe Committee will make a definitive schedule and you will receive a message when your course or practice evening will take place.
