CPR courses for a heart-safe Meerhoven

In April and May 2024, the Meerhoven Heart Safe Committee of Residents’ Association Meerhoven will again organize a number of starter and refresher CPR courses. The courses take place in De Hangar in Meerhoven from 7 to 10 pm.

Meerhoven has a comprehensive AED network and a large number of civilian aid workers. If someone in Meerhoven suffers a heart attack, there is always an AED and a civilian aid worker nearby to provide first aid.

Civilian aid workers
“We must work together to ensure that there are enough people in the coming years who can operate the AEDs and resuscitate victims of cardiac arrest,” says Hans Vissers, board member of Residents’ Association Meerhoven and also initiator of the Meerhoven Heart Safe Committee. “That is why, with the help of Residents’ Association Meerhoven, CPR courses are organized every spring and autumn for civilian aid workers.”

CPR course
Are you interested in becoming a civilian aid worker and taking a short course for that? Then register via the online registration form with FACTS, the training agency with which the Meerhoven Heart Safe Committee collaborates. If you experience any problems, you can send an email to hartveilig@meerhoven.nl. The course can also be taken by English speakers. If you have previously followed a course through the Meerhoven Heart Safe Committee, you do not need to take any action at this time. You will then receive an invitation by email to participate in the annual refresher course again this year.

Costs
After completing the course, you will receive a certificate and an invoice from the training agency. The costs are €35.50 and you must pay the invoice directly to the trainer. You can usually claim the invoice from your own health insurer. If the insurer does not reimburse you and you register as a civilian aid worker with HartslagNu, you can claimed costs through the Meerhoven Heart Safe Committee.
