Disruption and extra travel time on the A2/N2 this summer
The municipality of Eindhoven is building a tunnel under the Randweg A2/N2, near the Goederen Distributie Centrum (GDC) Eindhoven-Acht. This will cause serious traffic disruption from 28 July to 22 August 2022. During this period fewer lanes will be available. The lanes have also been shifted and are narrower. As a result, a lower speed limit will apply. The extra travel time can be up to 60 minutes during busy periods.
The disruption applies to traffic on the A2/N2 Randweg Eindhoven between the Batadorp and Leenderheide interchanges in both directions. Through traffic is advised to travel via the A73 and A16. Local traffic is advised to travel at quiet moments whenever possible or to choose alternative transportation. Keep an eye on the current traffic information and be well prepared for your journey.
Improving accessibility
The construction of the tunnel is part of the approach to the road structure in Eindhoven North-West. This is necessary to improve the accessibility of the region and the business parks. The approach also reduces the risk of traffic jams on the A2/N2 and the roads connecting to it. Finally, it will create a better connection to the slip roads and exits of the A58 at Best.
