Eindhoven commemorates Hercules disaster

On July 15, 2021, Eindhoven will commemorate the Hercules disaster at the monument at the airbase and at the monument next to the city hall. It will then be 25 years since the aircraft carrying members of the Fanfare Corps of the Royal Netherlands Army crashed at Eindhoven Air Base.

Aboard a transport aircraft of the Belgian Air Force, there were 37 members of the Fanfare Corps and four Belgian crew members. The musicians were on their way home after performing at a music festival in Modena, Italy. Of the 41 people on board, 34 died and 7 were seriously injured. It happened on 15 July 1996, a little after 6 pm.
