Eindhoven will accommodate 64 Ukrainians in the Holiday Inn at Flight Forum
From the beginning of July 2024, the municipality of Eindhoven will accommodate 64 Ukrainian refugees in the Holiday Inn hotel at Eindhoven Airport.
Due to the war in Ukraine, many people are still on the run. A small part of them is accommodated in Eindhoven. Additional shelter places are urgently needed. That is why, from the beginning of July 2024, two floors of the Holiday Inn hotel at Flight Forum will be used for temporary accommodation of refugees from Ukraine. This concerns 64 shelter places for a period of at least 20 months.
Accommodation and management
Care provider Springplank040 organizes the accommodcation and management at this location. In addition, the GGD, Red Cross, WIJeindhoven and the Dutch Council for Refugees are involved to support and guide the people. They work closely with the municipality of Eindhoven.
Effort obligation
With the additional housing, Eindhoven still does not meet the best efforts obligation imposed on it by the central government. According to the current state of affairs, Eindhoven must have 1,763 shelter places by January 1, 2025. As of May 1, 2024, the counter will have reached 1,200 realized places.
