Ennatuurlijk is certainly not resigned to the criticism of the connection costs incurred by customers in Meerhoven. The heat supplier is pulling out all the stops to win this matter of principle. The fact that a lot of money is involved is also important, according to Ennatuurlijk representatives at the court in Den Bosch.
On Tuesday afternoon, February 16, 2021, the court heard a case from Municipal Heating Foundation Eindhoven (SSE) against Ennatuurlijk on behalf of some 2000 households. The Reeshof Verzet Foundation in Tilburg (600 participants) has also joined the case. On behalf of both interest groups, lawyer Noortje Ogg argued that consumers have always been unaware of exactly what they were paying. Ennatuurlijk’s predecessors (including Essent) would have deliberately concealed this.
