Etos leaves shopping center Meerhoven

As announced earlier this year, Etos will close its doors in the shopping center Meerhoven soon.

The drugstore chain announces through a poster on the window of its branch in Meerhoven that the store will close from Monday, September 5, 2022. It is still unknown which new store will occupy the premises.

Vacancy
Earlier this year, Gall&Gall, Primera and Pearle all closed their doors in Meerhoven. This is due to the fact that the leases are expiring and the retailers do not want to renew the contracts. According to the broker, it has nothing to do with high rents. Residents’ Association Meerhoven, however, receives other signals. Earlier this year, the association expressed its concerns to the owner of the shopping center and the municipality.

Solutions
The municipality has promised to set up an acquisition team to bring more shops to Meerhoven. There are also plans to make the shopping center more attractive. On September 14, 2022, the online delicacy shop De SmaakBeleving will open a physical store in the former premises of Gall&Gall .
