Exercises at Eindhoven Airbase for Market Garden

Next month, there will be intensive training near Eindhoven Air Base for the commemoration of the allied operation Market Garden.

More than 1000 paratroopers and various transport aircraft from different countries will be guests at Eindhoven Air Base between 9 and 21 September 2019 for the Falcon Leap-Market Garde training, culminating in the departure of over 1000 paratroopers for the parachute jump on September 21 above the Ginkelse Heide at Ede.

Excercises
Before jumping, excercises are done first. From 9 to 13 September the excercise inolves loading various types of devices and dropping loads. On Monday, Tuesday and Friday, flights are made between 10 am and 5 pm, and on Wednesday and Thursday between 10 am and 10 pm. There are no flights in the weekend. The aircraft will arrive on Monday, September 16 for the second part of the exercise. On September 17, formation flying is practiced and test jumps are made from Wednesday. In this week, flights are made between 8 am and 4 pm. This also applies to Saturday, September 21, when more than 1000 paratroopers participate in the commemoration of Market Garden.
