Fish in Meerhoven are not in danger, says the municipality of Eindhoven
The fish in the ponds in Meerhoven will survive the drought for the time being. Despite the low water level, there are no life-threatening situations, says the municipality of Eindhoven.
With Water Board De Dommel and Sportvisserij Zuid-Nederland, Eindhoven is currently monitoring the situation daily. A spokesperson of the executive board of the municipality said this to questions from the newspaper Eindhovens Dagblad. Local residents have warned that fish in the ponds of Park Meerland are exhausted. They come out of the water with their gills to gasp for air. Niek Rennenberg of the Ouderen Appèl from the city council has also asked questions; he wanted to know whether immediate action could be taken.
