Hovenring colors orange against female violence

As part of the United Nations’ global campaign ‘Orange the World’, various Eindhoven buildings and objects will color orange from 27 November to 10 December 2020, including the Hovenring in Meerhoven. The action rejects violence against women.

The campaign period was not chosen just like that: November 25 is International Day against Violence against Women, December 10 is International Human Rights Day. The days in between are called ‘the 16 days of action against violence against women’.

Not only Eindhoven is participating in this campaign. In total 160 municipalities are committed to violence against women. Worldwide, one in three women is exposed to violence. In The Netherlands, this is even more than 45 percent of women and girls.
