Information evening about air traffic in and around Meerhoven

On Monday, January 22, 2024, Residents’ Association Meerhoven is organizing an information evening about air traffic in and around Meerhoven. The meeting will take place at primary school De Startbaan, Meerbos 16 in Meerhoven and lasts from 8 to 10 pm. Due to the limited number of seats, advance registration is required. Note that the meeting is in Dutch.

With this meeting, Residents’ Association Meerhoven wants to inform residents of the Meerhoven district from different perspectives about the military air base and the second largest civilian airport in the Netherlands. During the evening there will be plenty of opportunity to ask questions.

Eindhoven Airport and Eindhoven Air Base
Bas van Asperdt, coordinator of the Regional Information Center Eindhoven Airport and Major Sam de Haas, Commander 941 Aerodrome Services Squadron of the Royal Netherlands Air Force Eindhoven Air Base explain, among other things, flight routes, flight times and military exercises. Attention is also paid to the Ministry of Defense’s latest plans to use the air base more intensively, including landing and taking off considerably more fighter aircraft (jet fighters) than is currently the case.

BVM2
Wim Scheffers, chairman of the interest group “Flight Nuisance must be Reduced” (in Dutch: “Beraad Vlieghinder Moet Minder” – BVM2), will discuss in more detail the activities of BVM2 to promote a better balance between air traffic and the quality of the living environment. Attention is also paid to the updated manifesto with twelve demands regarding noise pollution, air pollution, flight times and traffic and parking nuisance.

The information evening is open to members and non-members of Residents’ Association Meerhoven. Note that the meeting is in Dutch. Residents who wish to attend the meeting are requested to register in advance via the online registration form. The number of seats is limited, so don’t wait too long to register.
