Meerhoven biomass power plant well-visited
Saturday, March 16, 2024, the biomass power plant in Park Meerland opened its doors especially for Residents’ Association Meerhoven. Over a hundred visitors could take a look inside the power plant that day.
Both young and old took the opportunity to visit the power plant. The participants were explained how heat is generated and could see and feel every step in the process. The incinerator made a particular impression. Attention was also paid to the energy transition. There were many questions and the enthusiastic explanation of the employee of the Municipality of Eindhoven was appreciated by everyone. A total of nine guided tours of over half an hour each were organized. At the end of each tour, participants were able to chat in the Mrs. Park city pavilion while enjoying a free cup of coffee/tea or soda.
New guided tours
Residents’ Association Meerhoven is considering organizing another series of guided tours of the biomass power plant this fall in cooperation with the municipality of Eindhoven. Due to the great interest, registration for a visit to the biomass power plant had to be closed early. Members will be informed by email. New tours are also announced via the Meerhoven.nl website, the MeerhovenApp, social media and the newsletter of the Residents’ Association Meerhoven.
Visit our neighbours
In the coming months, under the motto ‘visit our neighbours’, Residents’ Association Meerhoven will organize even more visits to its neighbours, including Eindhoven Air Base and Eindhoven Airport, ASML and the Flight Forum business park. Registration for these activities has now been closed due to the great interest.
