Meerhoven neighbourhood wants better participation in the police complex; calls for help from Eindhoven City Council
The sounding board group from the Meerhoven neighbourhood, which is involved in public participation concerning the police complex that is to be built here, has called in the help of the Eindhoven municipal council. The reason for this is that the Municipality of Eindhoven and the East Brabant Police Force are putting the neighbourhood under great pressure of time, are not fully informing it and are not listening to its input.
The sounding board group therefore stops the consultation for the second time. And this despite the fact that alderman Yasin Torunoglu is personally involved in attempts to improve the poor relationship between Meerhoven and the authorities. The breaking point is the time pressure. The police organization wants a decision in principle from the municipality about the new building as soon as possible. The Municipal Executive has to take a decision by May at the latest, otherwise the prestigious project could slip through Eindhoven’s fingers.
