Defense wants to completely renovate the runway at Eindhoven Air Base. Many local residents will cheer, holidaymakers less so: the airport, owned by Defense, will have to be closed for no less than five months for the job.

During that time, flights cannot be operated from Eindhoven Airport, so travelers must deviate to other airports. The renovation work will take approximately 22 weeks, from February to June. But it is still unknown in which year the mega job will take place.
