The municipality of Eindhoven has started the procedure for changing the zoning plan for Land Forum. With this change the municipality wants to make possible the construction of a police facility for approximately 1.800 police employees and daily 520 students at the border of Meerhoven.

The procedure has started with making the draft zoning plan public. This plan can be viewed via this link. Anyone can submit a view on the plan in the period from 30 June to 10 August 2022. Based on all submitted views, parts of the plan may be amended. The (amended) zoning plan will then be submitted to the municipal council for adoption. Anyone who has submitted a view and disagrees with the council’s decision can then appeal to court.

Walk-in evening
On Monday 11 July 2022 the municipality is organizing a walk-in evening about the draft zoning plan from 7 to 8.30 pm. Location: De Hangar, Meerbos 4 in Eindhoven. Local residents will soon receive a ‘Wijkinfo’ or have already received it. During the walk-in evening residents can ask questions about the draft zoning plan. The police will also be represented. It is not possible to submit views during the walk-in evening.

Residents’ Association Meerhoven is studying the draft zoning plan and is seeking legal advice. At the end of July, the association will present an example letter that residents can use to submit their own view. Members of the association will receive this letter by email. The example letter will also be made available through, Facebook and Twitter. Residents who have installed the MeerhovenApp on their phones will also receive a push notification by then.

People living in the immediate vicinity
Some parts of the zoning plan can only be disputed in a possible appeal procedure by those directly involved. It is therefore very important that residents in the immediate vicinity of the intended police facility (Grasrijk Oost and Bosrijk) submit a view. Anyone who does not submit a view will in principle forfeit his right to appeal against the zoning plan later. Residents’ Association Meerhoven advises to wait for the example letter. Residents who are interested in jointly tackling a possible appeal case can make their interest known via this form.
