Wednesday, 21 July 2021, Cure Afvalbeheer relocated some underground waste containers in Shopping Centre Meerhoven to minimise inconvenience to local residents. The new locations can be found below.
Due to construction activities in Meerrijk, Cure Afvalbeheer relocated several waste containers in Shopping Centre Meerhoven last April. In 2023, the containers will be at their definitive location. In the temporary situation, however, some containers were at a location where local residents experienced inconvenience. After consultation with the Residents’ Association Meerhoven, Cure Afvalbeheer decided to relocate these containers. Residents in Meerrijk were informed of this by letter.
New temporary situation
The new temporary situation can be seen on the map below. Glass can be collected at location De Hangar. PBD (plastic packaging waste, tins and drinking packs), clothing and residual waste can be disposed of at the Meerwater location (opposite the Jumbo) and the Meerzand location (between the Albert Heijn and the Zandbrug). Containers for the collection of PBD are also located at the car parks Oude/Nieuwe Sliffertsestaat, Waterfont and Sportpark Meerhoven.
Do not use the free yellow bags of Veldhoven Municipality. These bags are not suitable and will cause the container to become clogged. Use a (pedal bin) bag of maximum 50 litres. Do not fill this up too much. A 50 litre bag easily fits in the container and prevents blockages.
For coarse dirt, you can use the waste recycling center (milieustraat). The waste recycling point are free for residents of Eindhoven on presentation of the city pass. The wastre recycling centers are located at Achtseweg Noord 41 and Lodewijkstraat 9 in Eindhoven.
Het Goed Eindhoven collects your reusable items. You can hand in your goods at the store at Meerakkerweg 2 in Eindhoven. For residents of Eindhoven, Het Goed collects your goods at home for free. You can also contact Kringloopwinkel Stedencontact Bialystok at the Laagstraat in Eindhoven.
