Slight growth in passengers at Eindhoven Airport
The number of passengers at Eindhoven Airport increased slightly in the first quarter of 2019, by 3 percent to 1.28 million. The number of flight movements barely increased by 0.1 percent, and was slightly below expectations, says Joost Meijs, director of Eindhoven Airport.
The slight increase in the number of flight movements is mainly due to the fact that Ryanair closed its home base in Eindhoven on 1 November 2018. Other airlines need time to fill this gap, says Meijs. He expects this to happen around the summer.
