Starter course CPR

This autumn, the Meerhoven Heartsafe committee of the Residents’ Association Meerhoven will again organize two starters CPR courses. The courses take place in De Hangar in Meerhoven from 7 to 10 pm.

Meerhoven has a comprehensive AED network. This is partly thanks to the joint efforts of private individuals, the Eindhoven Heart Safe Foundation, Philips and the Meerhoven Heart Safe committee. If someone in Meerhoven is struck by a heart attack, there is always an AED and a civilian aid workers nearby to provide first aid. In the past year, more than 50 new civilian aid workers were trained in Meerhoven.

Starter course
Hans Vissers, board member of Residents’ Association Meerhoven and also initiator of the Meerhoven Heartsafe committee: “We are certainly not dissatisfied with the number of civilian aid workers in our district. Nevertheless, we want to continue to encourage residents in Meerhoven to become civilian aid workers. That is why we organize a number of starter courses every year for residents who want to be trained as a civilian aid worker. The starting course only lasts one evening. During such an evening you learn how to resuscitate victims of cardiac arrest and how to operate the AED.”

Dates, times and location
The starter courses will be given on Tuesday October 24 and Thursday November 23, 2023. Time: 7 pm to 10 pm. Location: De Hangar, Meerbos 4 in Eindhoven.

Register
Are you interested in participating in a starter or refresher course? Then register via the online registration form of FACTS trainer with whom the Meerhoven Heartsafe committee collaborates. When entering your personal information, you can enter an ‘x’ or other character in the (mandatory) fields ‘state/region’, ‘street number’ and ‘additional address’ and continue. If the courses are full, please send an e-mail to hartveilig@meerhoven.nl. As soon as courses are available, the Meerhoven Heartsafe committee will contact you.

Costs
Shortly after attending the training, you will receive a certificate and an invoice from the training office. The cost is €34 and the invoice should be paid directly to the trainer. You can usually claim the invoice from your own health insurance company. If the insurer will not reimburse you and it is inconvenient for you to bear the costs yourself, then the costs can be claimed through the committee at Residents’ Association Meerhoven. The only condition is that you register as a volunteer with HartslagNu.
